MY GOD-JOB OF WALKING!

       Well,  He tells me to walk in a few of the local streets.  Since December 12th, '15, it was indicated by a Doctor area that I could not drive my car any more, I've been walking near my house.   Usually every day I walk for 15 minutes or 45 minutes.  Never know what to do and where to go.  The Lord tells me to turn left or right, watch homes, see people driving by that portion or kids playing or people working or sitting in their yard.  I have 2 canes and when walking I sometimes am a little bit stumbling, especially when the streets have part of it going up a bit or down a bit.  Anyhow, this is all I can do.  I worship and pray and deal strongly with the sinful demonic issues here that have been here for nearly 1,000 years.  The Lord uses me in unusual ways, and I do it!  Even when it's too hot or too cold or too rainy or windy and I can't go away strongly, I can be in our yard for a few minutes and worship and pray.
     Most of the homes in our area were built about 80 to 95 years ago.  Our home is 95 years old, for instance. So now I'll shut up, but here's a few pictures of what I see around here.

WORSHIPING THE LORD! ALL I CAN DO!!!!

     All I can do is share a small piece.  The Lord uses me to pray and worship and glorify and praise in our home and around the local area and when on a car to go anywhere.  I am very tired and can't do much, but I can walk and worship.  Anyhow, my dementia has increased and my situations re: my feet and ankles cause me to stumble.  I use my two canes anytime I'm walking out and I'm truly hearing from the Lord exactly where to go on the streets and watching the homes.
     About 20 years ago, the Lord dropped this onto me.  The reason He has shown me where to go, usually from here to the a variety around our nation, because, spiritually, I have been shown re: the issues here up to thousands of years.  During those times other gods were strong and people and animals, etc., were sacrificed to and for the gods. The Lord has used me... and others... much of the time re: worshiping and glorifying the Lord and praying for the locations.
     I was a driver around our nation for more than 35 years.  NOW, since a hospital on Dec. 12, '15, indicated I can't drive any more... a brain thing ... it's a heart-broken issue for me. In these months, my husband and a couple friends have driven me around and most of those locations even when I had been driving around and used to worship and pray.  I did it nearly ever day then. Well, now I have it a couple times a week, wherever I choose, and, when sitting in the car, I'm still worshiping and praying and glorifying time.  That's all that counts. And the pictures are connected to the walking and the driving.  I'll share the clouds.  I'm a cloud addict!!!

  I can hardly get on the blog stuff any more, but I love and miss so many of you.

     I'll be going to bed soon, and it's usually 11 to 12 hours in bed.  The normal situation now is that, when I'm in bed, I'm singing and worshiping until I am asleep at night and then begin as soon as I wake up at night a few times and then when waking up in the morning.   All I can do and, again, focusing on the Lord is all that counts.

JUMPING TANDEM RETREAT..LAST WEEKEND

   [I took this photo of Deidra 2 years ago, and couldn't this time, but she was a blessing then and was a blessing now.]

Deidra Riggs, Leader

The retreat two years ago was a huge blessing and I wanted to do it again this time.  AND it's not far from my home, so I couldn't NOT go!!!  Well,  I got there very early last Friday... about 10:45 AM when the officially portion was at 4 PM.  But quite a number were there after noon and I was blessed to see some of them I'd known before when I was at the same Retreat 2 years ago.  It was a huge blessing to see so many.
    During the afternoon and evening there were ways to connect and spend time with and worship through some of them.  I saw many a few times, even during a worshiping time, and that was wonderful.  However, when it was nearly dark, the Lord told me to start walking outside and around and about and pray and worship.  I was told to be on a pathway that went up and down some of the side hills below our huge "house".  It was solidly on the top of the hills that would drop down to a stream.
    Since I have sometimes used 2 canes to use to walk around my home area, I certainly decided to use them then.  Walking on the paths, avoiding falling down the hill areas and crashing, was a pretty strong thing to do.  Well, I did it that evening and was out there going around and about any time and the Lord was telling me to turn certain ways, up and down a bit.
    That night I couldn't take pictures of the deers that were running across the grasses and up through the tree area across from me. And, as much as I LOVE birds, I couldn't do that either.  I couldn't take too many pictures, anyhow, because I was using my 2 canes and couldn't just set them aside easily and quickly.  Well, I took pictures of the moon that popped up not long after I was walking.  So this is it.

    BTW, the next day, late in the morning, He had me do it again, but go further down to the stream and get across it on a wood piece.  Ended up on other tops of hill path areas.  Since there had been lots of rain that night, the canes and my tennis shoes and my jeans were muddy.  I saw much and did much, and stumbled a couple times when going up and down and the mud causing the dirt to be slippy.  I'm a grateful God-jobber and lover and worker.  I got back.  And, again, I couldn't take pictures, because I could fall.  When I got back, I told a couple of my friends that if I had fallen out in that area, it would have been quite a while until I was found under trees, under the stream, or a long way off the side of the paths.  I'm a very grateful God kid.  He always gave me the strength and insight that I needed.
    When in the portions where people were teaching and sharing the Word and encouraging, I smiled, but rarely took photos.  However, I'll end this with the pictures of some of the ones I was with.  Two years ago, I was driving around and about from our airport on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. Sometimes when driving so often I didn't have time to be mixed with them during the retreat much, unless they were in my car/van.  When I reached that time, I needed to rest.  This time no one needed me to pick up or take back.  I'm a bit disappointed re: that, because I had loved doing the driving.  BUT the Lord, instead of driving used me to do the walking in a variety of times and places at that location area.  So, I still didn't spend enough time with everyone as I'd have loved to.  However, have a few pictures of them and me together.  That was a blessing.

Then, one photo I took was of Sandra and her husband, without me.  Two years ago, I picked her up at the airport and spent a wonderful time with her.  This time her husband drove her out from Michigan   He stayed in Lincoln, about 25 miles from where we were, and popped in to see her part of the days.  I was so happy to see him and meet him.

 ===============================================
    Anyhow, this is done.  And, since my dementia is increasing, day by day, my wording, writing, thinking is a huge challenge now, so I don't know when I can ever write anything again.  I struggled with much of this, with some of the words and some of the locations.  Some of them aren't exactly what I wanted to say..sometimes came up with words that are reasonable.  Much is not perfect.
    Bless you all and many of you are love and missed and, as I often say, the Lord can put us together in heaven and we can do one of His jobs up there.  That's what I count on.  I'm looking forward to dancing, rejoicing, worshiping Him and His dear ones, and, on the side, hugging hundreds and thousands of people to show appreciation and love -- my family and friends and some of the main prophetic people historically, because I've read much of their pieces for years now and I really love them.  All I can count on is HIM, though.

WALK STEADY

Ephesians 4:1 [KJV] states in part, "that ye walk worthy of the vocation...".   In my old Bible, penned in the margin, is the lofty thought, "a walk is steady."

My son, Steve, when he was ten years old, was a "string bean" with hands and feet too large for his lean frame.

It seemed he was always in trouble for bumping, tripping, falling, or dropping.  Praise God for wise teachers ... one encouraged me by saying, "Steve doesn't have any trouble he won't outgrow.  He'll get all his parts going the same direction.  It just takes time."

When I passed the age of ten in my Christian walk 36 years ago, I also wondered when all my parts would go the same direction ... when I wouldn't have to flinch when I read the words "a walk is steady."

Yes, I loved my Lord then, and I dearly love Him now.  My heart yearns for more closeness with Him.  My heart is in the right place.

But --  this wife, mother, grandmother, missionary [local and beyond], knee-jerk-taking-care-of-people-person...

    ...sometimes finds her feet tangled, trying to be all things to all people;

    ...sometimes cries in tiredness and frustration;

    ...sometimes whispers a sleepy "I love you" to Jesus as another hectic or complicated day ends.

I know that the malady of our cultural age -- too much activity crammed into too little time -- has no easy answers.  Most of my activities are not options and, even those that are, do appear to be God-directed.

So -- I gallop jerkily along, occasionally coming to a screeching halt, tripping over gravel in the road, definitely not walking, and definitely not steady.

But God loves me anyhow.  He loves me when I over-book my schedule ... and when I use my few times of leisure inappropriately (Who, ME??? staring off into space??) ... when I am undisciplined in my study and writing needs and have to "cram" ... when I open the Word, the posts, the FB life ... to read it, only to fall asleep half way through the intended scriptures.

Why am I sharing this "negative confession?"  Because I am not alone.  In the work-world, our living day-by-day world, the [not me!!] texting-instantly world, the FB world, I hear and see that others struggle with the same awkward gait ... who long to be that fine-tuned specimen of Christian maturity and "walk steady."

And I'm sharing this because of the common ground we share,  the ground of God's love -- our joy, hope and crown.  He knows our hearts, and, in spite of our busyness, He knows we love Him.

That gives me HOPE... forever and ever.  AMEN!!

JOYS IN HEAVEN

One Sunday afternoon, in April, 1978, while folding piles of clothes on my bed from the dryer, I received a phone call from my then-and-forever-friend, Susie.

[Photo from my visit in May, 2012]

We both lived in Omaha at that time.  God had used her to "rescue" me and my kids from California 4 years earlier, and we lived with her family for several months. It was an amazing blessing and protecting stretch.  Now, when she called, I was living in my own home, about 3 miles away from hers.

During the short call, she indicated that there was the need for a meeting that evening.  I said I'd be there.  I wasn't certain why and she didn't tell me.

Shortly after the call, while continuing the folding, the Lord dropped the answer in.  He told me Susie's family was moving to their generational homestead land in northern Minnesota, 550 miles away from me.  He knew I might cry a little, but it was the right place for her and hers to go.  No question.

THEN, He dropped a song into my heart.  I grabbed a paper and pen and wrote it immediately.  Never had to adjust it; it was exactly word by word and music note by note.

[Oh, and, yes, that evening this "moving to MN" was quickly shared with us.  How kind and caring can our Lord be?  Very sweet to me with that event occurring unexpectedly.]

I've had the song all this time.  A couple years ago, I shared the history of the song and sang it at my church at the talent show.  I am NOT a great singer, but my husband played the tune very carefully and sweetly while I sang, and the "listeners" really enjoyed it, especially the wording.  [I told them that God gave it to me; can't take the credit for this one!]

==========================================

 There will be joys in heaven
Words try to express -
"Love" and "comfort"
"Peace" and "Rest".
There will be joys in Heaven
Words try to explain -
"No more tears", "No more pain."

We'll be with Jesus,
We'll be with the Father,
We'll have total freedom and fellowship sweet,
With joyous communion around the throne,
Worshiping freely at Christ's dear feet.

But one of the pleasures that I'm longing for.
One of the joys that I want more and more
Is walking and talking with those that I love,
Walking and talking on streets high above.

No more separation by time or by space,
No more to be missing your sweet loving face
No more to be standing watching you go.
Walking and talking above.

So welcome us Jesus to the house you've prepared.
Let us adore you and worship you there.
Let us be ever, together, dear Lord.
Walking and talking above.
