COMFORT, COMFORT...

NOT ONLY "YOUR" GOD,
BUT OUR GOD!!

ALL WE CAN EVER COUNT ON, FOREVER.
I'M SO BLESSED TO BE FOR NEARLY 4-2/3 YEARS
WITH MY DEAR BHUTANESE BROTHERS, SISTERS,
GRANDCHILDREN, GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN.
ALSO, DEARLY LOVED FAMILIES AND FRIENDS,
ESPECIALLY MARK AND LORI WHO WERE
MISSIONARIES IN NEPAL AND
HELPING MANY IN OUR NATION,
BUT LIVING IN OMAHA.

I MET 2 BHUTANESE IN EARLY MAY, 2010.
NOW I HAVE ABOUT 200 IN MY LIFE
 AND ARE MUCH LOVED.

DAVE HAS DONE MUCH FOR THEM, TOO,
ESPECIALLY RE: COMPUTERS, MUSIC, FIXING
APARTMENTS AND HOMES.  DAVE IS A TREAT, AS USUAL.
MY SPECIAL COMMENT RE: TODAY AS WE PREP
TO GO TO THE NEXT YEAR OF OUR LIVES.

MY FIRST PHOTO, A WEEK AFTER I MET THE FIRST 2.

 WHAT A TREAT!  AND FOREVER.

BLESS YOU AND YOURS.

OH, AND BTW, THE TOP PHOTO WAS TAKEN AT A GLAD TIDINGS WHEN SOME OF THEM WERE BAPTIZED AND MANY HAD COME FROM THEIR CHURCH LOCATION TO WORSHIP AND REJOICE WITH THEIR FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO
HAD COME TO THE LORD FROM OTHER gods.

HALLELUJAH HEAVEN!

Am I dying?  Not necessarily, as I know.  However, we all are going to leave our bodies here and go to heaven.  I truly hope birds will be flying my soul/spirit up and have the angels keep me moving along.  When the timing is right. I've seen friends and family members serving the Lord and entering heaven when young, mid-aged, or old.  And now, at nearly 70, I'm in the "older" range.

These "joyfully jumping up and down" words hit me some months ago.  When I'm doing it, I start to say s l o w l y and my head bent down to my chest  "The worst thing that could ever happen to me is that I would die..." and then I DO jump and raise my arms and holler..."and go to
 H e a v e n
H a l l e l u j a h!"

Many people, while watching me, laugh and rejoice to the Lord, too.

Anyhow, I wanted to share this with you all.  I often say that when our "God-job" is finished on the earth, we will be doing our "God-job" in heaven -- Rejoicing, dancing, worshiping, singing.

I can hardly wait!!

NEED MY HEAVENLY FATHER NEAR ME!!!

IN JULY, 1950, AS I WAS JUST TURNING FIVE YEARS OLD,
IN A BAD AREA OF VANCOUVER, WA.,
I WAS HEADED FOR SERIOUS TROUBLE THEN
AND NEARLY FOREVER.  THE LORD, IN SPITE OF WHAT WAS TRULY GOING ON IN MY LIFE, HE PROTECTED ME. HE HELD OTHERS BACK FROM WOUNDING ME MUCH WORSE, AND ABOUT 15 YEARS LATER, HE TRULY BROUGHT ME TO HIMSELF.  I WAS NOT SAFE MANY TIMES, EVEN AFTER I ACCEPTED HIM OFFICIALLY, APRIL 15, 1966.  NO MATTER WHAT HAS BEEN GOING ON IN MY LIFE, HE HAS ALWAYS PROTECTED OR SPOKEN CLEARLY TO ME--- PROBABLY THROUGH AN ANGEL---TO TELL ME WHAT TO DO AND WHERE TO GO.  I'VE BEEN SIGNIFICANTLY PROTECTED.  I'M STILL ALIVE, OBVIOUSLY, AND WORKING FOR HIM.  GOING TO HEAVEN IS TRULY A REJOICING EXPERIENCE THAT ALL OF US WILL HAVE.  AS BADLY AS OUR WORLD IS OFTEN NOW, HE IS THE ONLY ONE I CAN COUNT ON AND I CAN "LOOK" ON,
THROUGH MY HEART, SOUL, AND SPIRIT.
BLESS HIM, HONOR HIM, SERVE HIM.
THAT'S WHAT WE CAN DO AND BE FILLED WITH JOY!

WISDOM IN MY HEART THROUGH HIM!

I WAS BLESSED THAT TIME...EARLY OCTOBER,2014...
AND REJOICING AS DRIVING AROUND AND ABOUT
FROM OMAHA TO THE TWIN CITIES AND TO DULUTH
AND THOROUGHLY LOVING THE LAKE AREA.
ALSO, FIVE TIMES IN VARIOUS LOCATIONS ON THE TRIP, WE WERE SEEING AND ENJOYING AND STAYING WITH
DAVE'S FAMILY AND SPIRITUAL FRIENDS.
A TRULY BLESSED TRIP.  AND ALWAYS KNOWING, WHEN READING THE WORD, THAT MY FATHER WILL INVEST HIS WISDOM INTO MY HEART.

MY TRUST... FOREVER!!

WHEN I WAS 5 TO 7 IN KLICKITAT THE FIRST TIME,
WE LIVED NORTH OUT OF TOWN IN AN UNUSUAL HOUSE,
WHICH I'VE WRITTEN ABOUT IN CHAPTER TEN OF
 "THE ANNIE PROJECT" BOOK.
THE HOUSE WAS CALLED THE "BIRD HOUSE".
IT WAS HIGH ON A HILL  AND NOT A SAFE PLACE.
  I WENT THROUGH SOME SERIOUS
 SITUATIONS MANY TIMES.

THE BLESSING FOR ME, THEN AND FOREVER, EVEN WHEN
I DIDN'T TRULY KNOW MY HEAVENLY FATHER, HE WAS
DROPPED INTO MY HEART MANY TIMES FROM
SMALL CHILDHOOD AND FORWARD.
WHEN, AFTER LEAVING TACOMA,  I WAS IN KLICKITAT
AGAIN FROM 15 TO 17 AND GRADUATED IN 1963.
THROUGH THE TEACHERS, PASTORS, PARENTS, AND
FRIENDS, THE LORD WAS DROPPED IN MORE DEEPLY.
SOME OF THEM ARE STILL MY FRIENDS, AND WE HAVE
CONNECTED AND RECONNECTED THROUGH
 BLOGGING AND FACEBOOK.

IT'S A BLESSING!

[AND I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING SOME OF THOSE GODLY-ORIENTED PEOPLE WHEN I'M IN HEAVEN WITH THEM.
SOME HAVE BEEN THERE FOR A LONG TIME!]

THE BLESSING OF SOROTI'S MAN, MOSES

CHAPTER 28

...   Towards the end of the Baptist service something happened.   A man stood and began speaking.  Cary didn’t understand, since he was speaking only in their tribal language, but she could see that people were overwhelmed both with sadness and with joy. When she looked at Pauline, as a nurse, her eyes were very open and she looked shocked.  Many of the people immediately prayed for him and Joseph did, too.
When the service was ending, Joseph brought this man over to Pauline and Cary.  When he sat with them, he spoke openly to Pauline and told her to tell Cary what he was saying.  As he spoke, Pauline interpreted.

His name is Moses and about thirty-seven years old.  When he and his brother were grabbed by the rebels in their village, they were told that they must carry the heavy artillery weapons, and if they dropped a gun or damaged any of it in any way, they would be killed.  Moses and his brother carried them all around the northern area of Uganda for hundreds of miles, in and out of the forests, up and down the hills, across the streams.  Constantly.  No times broken whatsoever.
Their rebel captain was particularly evil.   He came to a point where he decided he would murder Moses.  He beat Moses with a panga.  Moses collapsed, and seemed dead.  The captain was very happy.  Then, suddenly, Moses stood up.  Yes, he had cuts on his body that were very painful, but he was able to carry the weapons.
A couple weeks later, the captain demanded the other rebels to beat Moses until he died.  The captain wanted to make him an example of how the captain could run the show.  They obeyed their leader and beat Moses with their rifles and other weapons.  He fell, and while collapsed, he definitely appeared dead.  Then, a few minutes later, he shocked them again.  He stood up straight.  He said to them that he knew it was the Lord who had healed him and given him strength.
A few days later, the captain made Moses’ death another requirement.  So, this time, he was to be hit with the machetes by the rebel group again.  They whacked his head and other parts of his body.  He had large cuts on his head and was bleeding to death.  His feet were damaged and one of his toes was broken off.  He collapsed.  They were certain this was finished.
Very shortly thereafter, he stood up.  He had again been healed enough to move around.  His cuts continued to be shown, but,  amazingly, the Lord had made him strong and capable of standing tall.
The captain was furious.  He again told the others to kill him.  They said, “No.”  He said, “I am your captain.  You do what I tell you to do.”    Again they said, “No!”  He said,”Then I will kill him.”  They said, “He has come back to life three times.  If you kill him, we will kill you.”
      No one touched him again.
While at church, he showed Pauline and Cary his head and his scars and bald spots left by the blades.  He also showed them his feet with scars and the loss of a toe.  He smiled at them.  Happy to be alive.
Shortly after his last beating, he had somehow escaped or been left behind.
When he was running through the forest areas, and seen by the Ugandan Army, he was captured, because, at his age, not being a young person, they were certain he was with the LRA.  Local villagers, however, recognized him as someone from their area, so he was set free.
Now he was staying in Soroti at a local camp, because in his village area near the IDP, he knew there was the risk of capture and another attempt to murder him.  Even though he knew the Lord had brought him back to life, he didn’t want to face that danger again. He also didn’t want to stop being a father.
When the information was given from him to Pauline and then to Cary, Cary asked if he knew anything about his brother.
He shook his head.  His brother was still missing.  He looked very concerned for a few seconds. Then he smiled.  His wife was in labor near their village when he was captured.  It’s been so wonderful to see his wife and his four children, especially the new little boy.
Cary turned to Pauline.  “I see so many cuts on his head and on his feet!  Is there anything we can do for him?”
“We can pray for him.  There are so many in the hospitals and doctor areas that if Moses is not in serious trouble, nothing will be fixed or given any medical issues that might change it.  He truly, truly was kept alive by the Lord.  He would rather spend more time with his wife and children than going to the hospital.  He trusts the Lord, and that’s all that counts with him.  I’m so sorry for him, but he’s so worshiping and glorifying the Lord that I sure can’t cry.”
Cary took a number of photos of Moses feet and his head.  So many of the cuts were still there.

When they finished sitting together, Moses smiled and thanked Cary and Pauline for listening to him about the whole situation that had occurred for months.
Pauline and Cary smiled at him, he stood up and, while heading for the main door, showed to them great faithfulness
.

LIGHT ARISES....

AND THIS IS WHAT I HAD PERSONALLY NOTED
ON MY BIBLE RE: THIS VERSE:
"WHEN WE ARE OVERWHELMED BY
THE 'DARKNESS' OF OUR PROBLEMS
AND LIFE'S CHALLENGES,
HE WILL PROVIDE THE 'LIGHT'. " 10/07

A SIGNIFICANT FAMILY CHALLENGE HAD BEEN TAKING PLACE DURING THE YEAR BEFORE AND THE YEAR AFTER, AND THE "LIGHT" CAME FORWARD.  MY SORROWFULNESS HAS REDUCED.  EVEN THOUGH I HAVE READ THE PSALMS MANY, MANY TIMES, THIS VERSE HAD TRULY KICKED INTO ME IN OCTOBER, '07.  WHEN READING IT TODAY, I FELT THAT THE LORD LAID IT ON ME TO SHARE WITH OTHERS SO THEY WILL CONSISTENTLY LOOK FORWARD TO HIS
LIGHT.

CHAPTER 32...SOROTI, JINJA, NILE, AND FRIENDS.

...They talked for a while, and then, suddenly, Cary asked, “Where is Fred?”
“He’s at the Nile area right now.
He’s counseling a couple who are
having marriage issues.  However, I think he’ll be there for another couple hours, but we can get there, and I’ll take some food with us so we can sit there, and walk and eat ‘til he’s free.  What time do you need to go to Kampala?  Can you stay here overnight?”
“I think I can be here for about three hours is all.  I need to get to Kampala, if possibly, and at the hotel as early as I can.  Especially before it’s dark.  I sure want to spend a bit of time with you, Honey.”  She turned to Joseph.  “Can you drop us off?  It’s only a few blocks away, but that will save us some time.”
“Yes, Cary.  Let’s go now.  Jacob and I go to the church for our meeting as soon as we drop you off.”
They got in the car, and headed quickly to the Nile.  When there, Jacob and Joseph hugged Cary and told her they loved her and looked forward to seeing her again. They showed appreciation to Josephine.  When the duffle and backpack were taken out, Cary and Josephine carried them to the tourism building and put them inside and were protected by the police.  Then they went down to the river near where Fred was with the couple for whom he was counseling.  It was wonderful, because as they were walking his direction, he was shaking the hands of the couple and they were leaving much earlier than Josephine had thought.  When Fred saw Cary and Josephine he ran to them and hugged them.
“Cary, my dear sister, it is a blessing to see you.  Of course, my dear wife, it’s always a blessing to see you, too.”  He stood between them and they went down to the river and walked by a tourist boat area.  Quickly, Fred said, “Hey, Sister, do you want to ride on the boat?  It’s only a half hour and then we’ll grab some food and then put you to the taxi area.  I’d love to drive you to Kampala, but don’t have a car.  The taxi’s the best you can do.”
“I’d love to be on a boat.  Never have.  I’ve only gone walking around as far as I can and sitting on the rocks.”  She smiled at Josephine.  “Do

you remember when James and I were with you that day when we were in another part of the Nile and sitting on the big rocks that were on the edge of the river?  It was so much fun! ”
“Oh, yes. That truly was a lot of fun, and you and James were on
the boda-bodas and I had been on
a bus and waited for you to be there. I can’t forget that, because we laughed so much.”
“I’ve had pictures of it, too.  You took one of James and I while sitting on the rock and James took one of you and I.  I never can forget the fun of that day.”
Fred said,  “Then let’s get on the boat now.  I’ve arranged it with the men.  It doesn’t cost much, so we’ll do good.  The river isn’t flowing too much right now, so we won’t be bouncing around.”

He took their hands and walked them to the boat and they sat.  It left immediately.
During the time at the tour stretch, Cary was amazed.  She was seeing parts of the nation that had prison across the Nile near the Lake Victoria.  She saw large farming areas.  When she asked, Fred told her that the prisoners would be helping the farmers.
“Oh, the birds!”  Cary grabbed her camera and started taking pictures

of the egrets and many others on the trees that were in the midst of the river, right at the
point of the Lake becoming the Nile River.  She had a lot of fun with that.
It was a wonderful time to be on the Nile and the Victoria.  Cary loved it.
Prison area by Lake Vic
Lake Victoria on left of tree; Nile River on right.
This photo was taken in February, 1991, and the division, using the tree, was all that was used then.  People sometimes walked on the planks to go over to the tree, and that could be pretty dangerous, depending on the weather.   A few years later, the Jinja tourism section was filled with correction and much more "easiness" for the ability to get near the trees at the division between Vic and Nile.
