CHAPTER 32...SOROTI, JINJA, NILE, AND FRIENDS.
...They talked for a while, and then, suddenly, Cary asked, “Where is Fred?”
“He’s at the Nile area right now.
He’s counseling a couple who are
having
marriage issues. However, I think he’ll be there for another couple
hours, but we can get there, and I’ll take some food with us so we can
sit there, and walk and eat ‘til he’s free. What time do you need to go
to Kampala? Can you stay here overnight?”“I think I can be here for about three hours is all. I need to get to Kampala, if possibly, and at the hotel as early as I can. Especially before it’s dark. I sure want to spend a bit of time with you, Honey.” She turned to Joseph. “Can you drop us off? It’s only a few blocks away, but that will save us some time.”
“Yes, Cary. Let’s go now. Jacob and I go to the church for our meeting as soon as we drop you off.”
They got in the car, and headed quickly to the Nile. When there, Jacob and Joseph hugged Cary and told her they loved her and looked forward to seeing her again. They showed appreciation to Josephine. When the duffle and backpack were taken out, Cary and Josephine carried them to the tourism building and put them inside and were protected by the police. Then they went down to the river near where Fred was with the couple for whom he was counseling. It was wonderful, because as they were walking his direction, he was shaking the hands of the couple and they were leaving much earlier than Josephine had thought. When Fred saw Cary and Josephine he ran to them and hugged them.
“Cary, my dear sister, it is a blessing to see you. Of course, my dear wife, it’s always a blessing to see you, too.” He stood between them and they went down to the river and walked by a tourist boat area. Quickly, Fred said, “Hey, Sister, do you want to ride on the boat? It’s only a half hour and then we’ll grab some food and then put you to the taxi area. I’d love to drive you to Kampala, but don’t have a car. The taxi’s the best you can do.”
“I’d love to be on a boat. Never have. I’ve only gone walking around as far as I can and sitting on the rocks.” She smiled at Josephine. “Do
you remember when James and I were with you that day when we were in another part of the Nile and sitting on the big rocks that were on the edge of the river? It was so much fun! ”
“Oh, yes. That truly was a lot of fun, and you and James were on
the boda-bodas and I had been on
a bus and waited for you to be there. I can’t forget that, because we laughed so much.”
“I’ve had pictures of it, too. You took one of James and I while sitting on the rock and James took one of you and I. I never can forget the fun of that day.”
Fred said, “Then let’s get on the boat now. I’ve arranged it with the men. It doesn’t cost much, so we’ll do good. The river isn’t flowing too much right now, so we won’t be bouncing around.”
He took their hands and walked them to the boat and they sat. It left immediately.
During the time at the tour stretch, Cary was amazed. She was seeing parts of the nation that had prison across the Nile near the Lake Victoria. She saw large farming areas. When she asked, Fred told her that the prisoners would be helping the farmers.
“Oh, the birds!” Cary grabbed her camera and started taking pictures
point of the Lake becoming the Nile River. She had a lot of fun with that.
It was a wonderful time to be on the Nile and the Victoria. Cary loved it.
| Prison area by Lake Vic |
Lake Victoria on left of tree; Nile River on right.
This photo was taken in February, 1991, and the division, using the tree, was all that was used then. People sometimes walked on the planks to go over to the tree, and that could be pretty dangerous, depending on the weather. A few years later, the Jinja tourism section was filled with correction and much more "easiness" for the ability to get near the trees at the division between Vic and Nile.

THANKFUL THANKSGIVING!
A BLESSING THEN AT MY DEAR FRIEND SUSAN'S LAND, AND A BLESSING TO BE WORSHIPING AND MAGNIFYING
THE LOVE OF OUR LORD EVEN DURING OUR "LOGICAL"
THANKSGIVING.
CARY'S BLESSINGS, MUCH OF REALITY
She hurried over. When she entered, she was overwhelmed with what she was seeing.
Pastors Job, Justin, and George were the ones who had arrived. Job said, “Dear Cary, we want to pray for you, because we know you are leaving soon. Let us stand together." All of them did and the four of them held their hands. Job said, "Thank you, Father, that you sent Cary here for the spiritual warfare information, so I would learn and teach my church. Again, thank you, Lord.”
Job nodded, and Justin began. “I appreciate my spiritual sister, Lord, for helping me to deal with the legality between the other portions of Uganda that have been trying to call me a foolish man and take me from pastoring. Now I’m safe. Also, Lord, thank you for using her to help the family next to me when that little girl was burned. The family smiles now, because she looks very good. Please bless dear Cary for us, Lord. Thank you.” Justin touched her hand and smiled sincerely.
“Thank you for using her, Lord, to purchase malaria pills for me. I’m doing so much better already. My church is so happy. If I ever feel so ill again, malaria or anything else, I truly will try to reach to a doctor who will help me. Thank you, Lord, because now I’ve changed my attitude, my hope.”
After the prayer time, they all laid hands on her shoulder, and prayed for safety and health. When they were leaving, Cary touched each one, and said, “I look forward to seeing you in heaven. I would love to see you here again, of course, but since I doubt I’ll be here, heaven is the only opportunity we have. The three of you, and Joseph, Jacob, and Pauline and other encouraging people have been a huge blessing. Again, thank you so much.”
They waved and smiled as they were heading to Job’s car.
Cary stood on the porch for a few minutes. She lifted her arms to the Lord and said, “Thank you so much, Father. You told me to come. Sometimes it was very nice and sometimes it was filled with sorrow and fear surrounding me. But you have helped, encouraged, and protected me and many others. I'm grateful and appreciating you. I love you so much, my dear Father.”
She went to her room and went to bed, and immediately was sleeping and seeing dream visions of the wonderful not-distant future when she would be home.
Much of this portion of the chapter is truthful. The pastors came to the YWAM to pray for me, because they knew I would be leaving soon, and came to express their appreciation. With all the work I did with Job, Justin, and George was wonderful, but I only had one photo and it was of Job. Sure would love to see any of them again.

MID OF CHAPTER 31...STINKY BIRDS
CHAPTER 31
When Cary and Anne were across the street and riding the bikes, suddenly Anne’s tire went flat. Cary stopped. They were doing whatever they could, and suddenly something else happened that was very scary. They happened to be on the wrong side of the street, because it was covered with trees and the trees were covered with pelicans, not far from the lake and river.
There were hundreds and they were pooping. While Anne and Cary were there, it was hitting their hats, clothes, shoes, and hands, and it was very stinky. Allen came and he grabbed Anne’s bike and took it across the street. He told Cary to head for home.
As Cary started to ride, and glanced across, she saw a lot of guys standing out and laughing. This mistake of theirs was making a lot of people happy.
Cary had to ride the bike through the park area again. By herself, without following Allen, in the dark, she was a bit scary. She did it, but sometimes she was getting too close to the edge of the lane. She also was smelling the stinkiness from her hat and her shoulders. A few minutes later, she was able to pull into YWAM and it was late enough that lots of people wouldn’t be hanging out so they didn't have to smell her and laugh at her and embarrass
Cary stuck into her room area, grabbed a towel, soaps, and shampoo, and ran over to the other side of the compound where she could take a shower. Even if she had to bend down, since it wasn’t high enough to be over her head, she would do it. The clothes were dirty and stinky and her tennis shoes. She had to wash it all, and scrub everything. She had to let the water go down, wipe the place again, and then have more of the water officially let her have more and more of the soaps poured around her body so all the smelling is gone.
This portion is truly true. The photo was not taken there, but it's just an example, more or less. However, the trees were filled with the pelicans, and the reason Anne and I were there is true. My stories are fictional and non-fictional. This one is truly non-fictional. Even as I had to clean and clean me and my things. YUK!!
