ELIA IS IN MY HEART STILL.

This boy that I was used to pray for him when he'd been wounded and torn away from his parents months earlier by the Lord's Resistance Army.  A few days later, after shortly having been with him for only about 15 minutes, I was told that he was in the protection location the day before I was with him and hadn't been able to know anything of his parents.  When I was praying for him, he was crying and put his hands over my hands.  The language was being translated.  I found a few days later that a couple guys had been out to find his parents, let them know he was alive, and they got together.  It was a real dangerously stretch for so many family and friends then... thousands had been broken into and through so much of the danger and so many murdered.    Since he was 10 then, he's now in his early 20s.  When in Heaven, over the next dozens and millions of years, I sure want to meet him again.  Or so many of the others that I was used for by the Lord then during December, '03 and January, '04...3-1/2 weeks in both of those times.  Still love the Soroti pastors and so many of the others that I was involved with.   Miss them MUCH!

One of the other kids, about 12, and badly damaged.

Doing what I could do whenever I could.  Jill was a huge blessing for me, BTW.  We became strong good friends then and have loved her ever since.  She's come here from England and/or Uganda and I was to see her in England shortly after our connection.  A blessing broke into my life through her.  And Dave and I were a blessing to her.  Worth a smile and wink right now!

SOROTI ABOUT ELIA AND VINCENT

With "The Soroti Project" book this is one of the portions of the story that has broken my heart then and broke it now, even though it's been 11 years since I was there.  The 10-year old boy who had been abducted by the Lord's Resistance Army and his legs and feet had been bloody and had been dropped off to the side from the large group, expecting he'd die, but they weren't going to kill him.  Well, he was caught and protected, and in with the safety kids group, and he had just arrived and a teen kid had gone out just that day trying to find his parents and let them know he was alive.  He cried when I was with him and holding his hands and praying.  And he put his hands over mine and cried.  I wanted to put him on my lap, since he was so young, and I would have held and cried over him.  However, in their nation, that wouldn't be OK.  I cried as soon as he had been prayed over and was going out to the others.  He truly was a heart broken kid to me.  NOW, he's in his early 20s, and I sure hope he's doing well and, as a kid who truly had been with the Lord even at his age, it would be a blessing to know he with and serving the Lord.  And, probably, married and has kids of his own.  Sure want to know somehow.  Anyhow, this grabbed me and I'm sharing it.

AND VINCENT WAS 12.  SUSAN WAS A MAIN LEADER. MY GLASS WAS ON MY HAIR COVERING HAT, BUT MY FACE WAS WAY DOWN TO THE LORD. ALL THE SAME DAY WAS DONE.  WOULD LOVE TO SEE AND MEET VINCENT, TOO. IF NOTHING ELSE, THERE WILL TIME IN HEAVEN! THAT'S WHAT I COUNT ON! FOREVER AND EVER.

MEDITATING GOES ON FOREVER!!

I've told the story many times of what he indicated when I interviewed him as a kid that had been abducted by the LRA, and what he went through.  When I found out he was only 10 years old, and what he had gone through with his legs and feet being burned and filled with cuts, I was heartbroken. He did want me to be praying for him, and I DID start to pray.  However, unusually, when I would have held HIS hands, he grabbed mine and pressed them.  And, when I glanced at
him, I saw his tears flowing down his cheeks.

I was overwhelmed with sorrow when I knew what he had gone through.  He DID seem to focus on the Lord,
however, even when he had been so wounded.

Now, assuming he survived, he's about 20, pushing 21, since it was nearly 11 years ago that I was with him for that very short time.  I assume he has entered family and friends
 and the cultural situations.
I would love to see him, love to meet his parents.

He has been on my heart all these years, all this time.
I meditate and consider my Lord's mighty deeds.
Our Heavenly Father is bigger than LRA,
any world-wide sinfulness, any sorrowfulness.
All I can count on, forever.

AMEN!!
