A MOON HEART-GRABBER!

AS I INDICATED, I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS EVER, AROUND AND ABOUT OUR NATION AND OTHER COUNTRIES, IN MY WHOLE LIFE,
AND AS I'VE SAID MANY TIMES, I AIN'T A YOUNG 'UN.
SO IN ALL THESE 69 YEARS,
THIS TRULY WAS A HEART GRABBER LAST NIGHT.

YES! MY GOD-JOB IS MY ONLY HOPE.

I AIN'T GORGEOUS LOOKING THAT DAY,
 FRIDAY, SEPT. 5TH,
... OR EVEN TODAY ...
BECAUSE I WAS NEARLY AWAKE FOR 39 HOURS
AND ON ALERT FOR 27 OF THEM,
EVEN THOUGH I DOZED A BIT
BEFORE THE BABY ARRIVED.
BUT I FEEL VERY BLESSED,
ALTHOUGH STILL A BIT TIRED,

B/C KNOWING THE LORD USED ME TO HELP THE FAMILY
FILLS ME WITH REJOICING.
YES, I AM THE LORD'S SERVANT,
AND FILLED WITH JOYFULNESS TO SERVE HIM.
THAT'S ALL THAT COUNTS.
HE IS ALL THAT COUNTS.

NOW, HITTING THE ROAD TO NORTHERN MINNESOTA,
AND WILL BE GONE FOR ABOUT 10 DAYS TO
BE WITH MY DEAR FRIEND/"SISTER", SUSAN,
AND WILL WORSHIP AND PRAISE AND PRAY
DURING THE 9-ISH HOUR DRIVE TODAY.
I WILL HAVE SOME SIGNIFICANT REST
FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS.
THEN, WHEN I GET BACK, I CAN GO TO HOLD
MY NEW BHUTANESE BABY AGAIN.
THAT WILL BE A TREAT.

SUSAN AND I AND OUR FRIEND, LINDA.

BLESSED SCHOOL-YEAR

THE BEST YEAR OF SCHOOL FOR ME
BECAUSE OF THESE TEACHERS.
MRS. SWARM WAS WONDERFUL.
A TEACHER I'VE NEVER FORGOTTEN ABOUT.
SHE SAID I SHOULD BE A SPECIAL WORKER
SHE WROTE ON THE CLASS PHOTO I RECEIVED:
I SHALL BE WAITING TO HEAR OF THE FAMOUS
 "SCIENTIST LEE" SOME DAY.
AS TIME WENT ON WAS I GOING TO BE A SCIENTIST?
  NO. LIFE CHANGED.
WITH HER ENCOURAGEMENT, BURIED IN MY HEART, I TRULY HOPE TO SEE HER IN HEAVEN.
THE ASSISTANT TEACHER WAS GREAT, TOO.

[OH, AND, BTW, MY FIRST CHILD NAME WAS "LEE".]

MY GOD-JOB FOR A LONG TIME...

AS I INDICATE, THIS IS NOT "WORDY"
BUT THIS IS "GOD-JOBBY".
HE CALLED ME TO DO SPECIAL STUFF YEARS AGO.
HAD BEEN ALREADY, BUT THIS WAS OFFICALLY
PLACED ON ME ON THAT VERY DAY...
JUNE 1, 1999.

AND, WHEN LOOKING AROUND AND ABOUT MY PHOTOS FOR ONE THAT WOULD FIT INTO THE INFO,
SEEING THE CLOUD LOOKING TO THE LORD,
SO I COULD LOOK TO THE LORD.  ON IT.

OH, OUR WORLD CHANGED!!!--- 45-ish YEAR AGO

One of the things that has been dropped on me very recently, while reading the Bible, was the Sabbath event.  It's "event" was to NOT work, NOT play [much], NOT have shops, bars, stores, restaurants, NOT school events.  Nothing on Sunday except church.  Most of the time, except for movies that had opened a number of years earlier, almost nothing was available, around and about.  Not even many buses were working out, and many, many, MANY people didn't have cars then, so people couldn't get anywhere, even if they wanted to.  Personally,  I lived on buses in those years... or was walking whenever and wherever.

When I had come to the Lord ... April 15, 1966 ...  I had known many things, but, not having hung out in a church, I didn't know what was done then on a regular basis.  A couple years later some of their bits and pieces changed.
One of the hugest blessings I had as a kid... from 7 in 2nd grade to 17 [when I graduated and left home]... was that I usually didn't have to babysit my sisters on Sunday.  I often was watching them on Friday evening -- often until about 2:30 on Saturday morning, since the bars closed about 2:00 -- and on Saturday, off and on all day until 12:30 AM on Sunday, because the bar closed at midnight.  On Sunday, I could rest, play, go to a movie [sometimes cost 10-25 cents in those years], and, sometimes, had a nice time with my family.

The shops weren't usually in place.  We could get some pops, etc., from a small place.  No grocery store opened.  And no such thing as a mall in those years, so far as I know.

Sometimes after I was in my early 20s this began to change.

YES, life truly changed.

With so many people begin forced to work on Sunday/Sabbath day, there's nothing the same as it used to be.  Some adults can't go to church, because of jobs.  Some kids can't go to church, because their school sports and other issues have them on early Sunday, and they have to be at school.  Some churches have Saturday night services, partly because it's the only time some people can come.

In the past 40 years it has become so practical and so obvious that most people don't even know when or how it changed.  And, when a company refuses to open on Sunday, such as Hobby Lobby, many become angry, think they're crazy.

I've TRIED to focus on Sunday/Sabbath, and keep from doing anything significant during that day.  Focusing on the Lord and resting and being with friends and sharing the glory of the Lord.  However, just like others, I get so easily sidetracked.  I'm embarrassed about this.  AND, because I am sometimes not doing well on Sunday, I think I can choose a day and focus on the Lord for a different one.  Well, just as with everything else, I screw up.  I get so easily, sidely re-focusing on whatever is on my plate.

Historically, missionaries moving around the U.S., east to west, back in the early to mid 1800s, refused to travel on the Sunday.  One couple, Marcus and Narcissa Whitman, for instance, was even in Omaha-area at their portion to end up in eastern Washington state.  I read that they were just one of the many who refused to move during the day.  The wagon leaders, in a rush, sometimes kept moving along, and those who refused to go off on Sunday had to wait for another.  It was a real challenge.

The challenge continues.  Full-filled nearly every day forever and ever.  It's another reason I'm truly looking forward to heaven.

The intensity in our world has increased significantly, and and it won't go away, because now it's spreading around and about nearly constantly.

Anyhow, couldn't not share this after it was poured on me this past few days.  AND when am I going to spend a Sabbath day soon?  Not enough all of next Sunday, after several hours with 3 different churches.  But on this next Monday, I'll be driving 550 miles up to northern Minnesota, and I will have about 9 hours and I can listen to worship music all that time and rejoice in and for the Lord.  Other than getting gas a couple times and grabbing a lunch on the way, I won't be NOT focusing on the Lord.  And when I reach the house of my dear friend/"sister"-- friends for 54 years--, we will be rejoicing over the Lord together.  So, it will be a spiritually focusing-on-the-Lord day.

And friend, Linda, was with in school in Washington state with us and she came to see Susie and I in our part of the country last year.        What a treat!

I hope all of us can keep the Lord on our Word, or heart, our focus... moment-by-moment, day-after-day, forever and ever.

Amen!

A NEW GRANDSON...SPIRITUALLY

I ain't a mall hanging-out person, usually.  However, when in Tacoma, about 3 weeks ago, staying with a friend from Omaha who hadn't known I was raised in that town [I blogged about that a couple weeks ago when I had came home] and she was a wonderful nursing teacher for a couple months and had a wonderful apartment arranged by the business out there.
Lisa and I at my sister's; Lisa heading to Sea-Tac

The apartment was near the Tacoma Mall.  I wanted to walk around and about, getting some exercise, so strolled over about noon.  That happened for three days.  During that time, I met a few new friends and that truly was a real treat. I bought one thing from a really special seller, Natalie. And I'll be wearing those purplely leggy things for a very long time.
The last day, Thursday, I sat for what I assumed would be a few minutes.  Well, it became more than an hour.  There were two twenty-ish aged people.  They had become Mall friends very recently.  The guy, Aaron, and I talked quite a bit re: where he had lived previously [Pennsylvania and Texas, but born in Tacoma], what his working and college situations were that were challenging him, and we talked about the Lord.  The gal, Brittany, had gone to lunch with a friend, and she returned before I left, so I've had her email and phone number.  I was very, very pleased.

One of the amazing pieces is that, on Friday, when my friend was leaving Tacoma and returning to Omaha, I ended up at a cousins apartment, a significant distance from where I had been staying near the Mall.  And this apartment was very small and only about 1/2 mile from where Aaron lived.

On Friday and Saturday, he called me about going to his church.  I knew, as he described it, that it would be in the general area I had lived in and traveled through for years and years and years.  But I didn't recognize the church's name.

That Sunday I was picked up by Aaron and his driver.  A mile-ish away, when they pulled up to the church, I was overwhelmed.  My mother's church when she was about 20 years old, back in 1940.  I'd seen it many, many times, but had never gone in.

To be in it on that Sunday, it was amazing.  It had been a Baptist Church for many years, but now was a non-denominational church and filled with worship and worship and more worship.  And, that day, sharing many of the summer missions situations around and about our world.  And wonderful healing and helpful prayers in the middle time and at the end time.  I was prayed over more than once!  And I prayed for another near me.

Just heading out from church

Aaron and I sat together and had a wonderful time.  Then we walked about a mile to have lunch right under the apartment of my cousin's. After about an hour of just eating and talking and encouraging, when we finished, we hugged and he walked his way and I went up to the apartment. I returned to Omaha the next day, hitting the planes.

The important everydayness of this situation is that now I have a "grandson".  Aaron, when he calls or emails, he has consistently called me "grandma".

What a blessing to go to the Mall.  I was walking around and about in that very large place, seeing many, many people.  Suddenly meeting three.  A blessing, a special one, is that I  have a spiritually-focused grandson and now I am "officially" being his grandma.

Yes, a blessing.
